Fe and Dee Ann in their high fashion

Style, Confidence, and Color: Fe and Dee Ann Show Fashion Has No Age Limit

Style is more than what you wear. It’s how you express your energy, personality, and joy for life. Just ask Fe and Dee Ann, two of Abbey Delray South’s fashionista residents whose closets overflow with color, curated pieces, and vintage gems. They’re proof that fashion for older adults can be bold, creative, and entirely your own.

Fe, a retired nurse from the Philippines who’s traveled the globe, keeps it simple during the day — shorts are her go-to when gardening in Florida’s warm weather. But she loves dressing up for dinner, parties, or community events, especially if it means pulling out one of her vibrant jackets from East Asia or a piece of jewelry with a perfect pop of sparkle. “I wear everything I have,” she says. “And I love warm colors. They brighten your face and your mood.”

Dee Ann’s approach is all about global prints, mixing patterns, and layering art and history into her look. With a background in fashion merchandising and a past career at Vogue, the former vintage store owner draws inspiration from all over the world. “My style is eclectic,” she says. “India, China, South America — I mix it all. And I don’t want to get dressed twice in one day, so when I get up, I make it count.”

Both are proud thrift shoppers and style sharers. Dee Ann founded Abbey Delray South’s community thrift shop, where Fe took the lead on jewelry sales, to support the Lifespace Foundation. Dee Ann and Fe enjoy hunting for new pieces with plenty of personality for the shop.

“We both shop in our closets,” Dee Ann laughs. “And we love seeing others do the same.” Her signature pieces? Big glasses, flea market jewelry, and vintage finds with character. Fe and Dee Ann agree that the best accessory is confidence. And maybe a pair of classic Jackie O sunglasses.

Fashion Doesn’t Fade – It Evolves

Fe and Dee Ann’s style philosophies reflect a broader truth: fashion for a 60-year-old woman (or any age) doesn’t mean playing it safe. It’s about choosing clothes that feel good, fit well, and reflect who you are today. That means color, comfort, individuality, and confidence.

If you’re exploring hip clothes for a 60-year-old woman, start with pieces that blend comfort and personality. A crisp white blouse with fun earrings, tailored jeans paired with a patterned kimono, or a flowy tunic in a color that lights up your face are all great building blocks.

When shopping, look for flattering shapes, soft fabrics, and colors that energize you. Don’t be afraid of bold prints or unexpected textures. Leather jackets and animal prints are absolutely on the table if they make you feel like your fabulous self.

Style That Reflects You

Whether you love vintage patterns, minimal neutrals, or a flash of flair, the “proper fashion” is whatever helps you feel confident and authentic. Fe and Dee Ann remind us it’s not about following trends. It’s about wearing what makes you happy, mixing eras and influences, and permitting yourself to evolve your style.

So, shop your closet (or raid your neighbor’s). Mix textures and colors. Embrace what catches your eye. And most importantly, own it!
