Update as of December 18, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. CST

We want to provide an update on an exposure to COVID-19 within our Abbey Delray South community. We learned today, Friday, December 18th, that two of our health center residents tested positive for the virus. These are our only resident active cases of the virus. One individual is being cared for in the hospital and one is self-isolating offsite in their family’s home.

As previously communicated, we have two total team member active cases of the virus and both are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.

We understand that you have concerns about the current COVID-19 status in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.

Lifespace and Abbey Delray South continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are also encouraged to practice social distancing, and we ask that you wear a mask or face covering when you interact with others in public settings. Continued attention to proper hand hygiene, including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is essential to preventing the spread of the virus. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.

We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Abbey Delray South management team.

Thank you for your continued support.
